4. To help you discuss and find quotes in your novels about conflict, please discuss and collaboratively answer the questions associated with your book. 
a. Have one person in each group make a copy of the document.

c. Collaboratively and equally work on the document to completely answer the questions. Grading is based on if all members are writing on the document.

Visual Memoirs should have a written reflection or presentation 

Analytical Paragraph for all assignments

As a group, determine the 6 significant events in your novel thus far (from the first 75 pages)

1. Have one person in your group make a copy of the significant events document 

2. Share it with the others in your group and then share with me at jmurphy@sandi.net

3. Decide the 6 most significant events using the questions in the document to guide your choices.

4. Distribute the 6 events among the people in your group.

5. Each person is responsible for describing their event, quote, & explanation.

1. Create a visual slidedeck of your memoir in 10 pictures or more with captions of the events / moments throughout the memoir

7. Create a narrative poem of your memoir with a visual
8. Create a song capturing your memoir and perform it for the class. Include a paragraph explaining what you went through in each stanza and
9. Create dance moves that express the emotional journey of your memoir w/ paragraph or small speech explaining how the moves relate to the story
10. Create a soundtrack for your memoir. Divide your memoir into 4-6 moments, then choose a song for each moment. Burn the songs onto a CD or click links to them. Describe why this songs fits the scene of your memoir in a couple of sentences for each moment. O

Vague Vs. Specific writing

Vague: She went home in a bad mood. [What kind of a bad mood? How did she act or look?]

Specific: She stomped home, hands jammed in her pockets, angrily kicking rocks, dogs, small children, and anything else that crossed her path.

Vague: My neighbor bought a really nice old desk. [Why nice? How old? What kind of desk?]

Specific: My neighbor bought a solid oak, roll-top desk made in 1885 that contains a secret drawer triggered by a hidden spring.

Vague: He was an attractive man. [Attractive in what ways - his appearance, personality, or both? Can you picture him from reading this sentence?]

Specific: He had Paul Newman's eyes, Robert Redford's smile, Sylvester Stallone's body, and Bill Gates's money.
