Image result for memoir

Writing our story. The other day, we are...

1. Listing as many words, topics, memories, personality traits, activities you do, belongings, and / or feelings you have as you can about yourself.

2. Circle 2 - 3 words you can say more about.

3. Choose 1 word to write about and free write. Explain how this word plays a role in your life, what ideas do you connect with this word?

4. Describe the GIST, point of your writing, or purpose in one sentence
What I'm really trying to say is ...

5. Look over your list and your purpose. Ask yourself...

  • who am I?
  • where have I been?
  • where are you now?
  • where are you going?
Answer 1 or all of the above questions in 6 words to describe a slice of your life.

6. Choose at least two images to accompany your idea.

7. Write a paragraph explaining the 6 word memoir (story) about yourself.
  • what does this say about you?
  • what part of your life is this from (past, present, future?)
  • where in life do you see this idea happening?
  • what events have lead up to this idea?
  • why is it important?
  • where are you going next?
  • What is your purpose for sharing this story? What is my attitude, feeling towards this subject?
